Why do we do what we do?
At Northbeach Woodworks, we love what we do. We f
eel incredibly fortunate to be able to spend our days surrounded by wood, working with our hands and minds to create something tangible and lasting that is both beautiful and practical. We believe that the art of fine woodworking must not be lost, that the knowledge and skills that humans have refined for centuries must be nurtured and passed down. We are confident that life is enhanced by living and working with furniture and cabinetry that is superbly designed and impeccably crafted. So we find it deeply satisfying – almost a calling – to devote our energies and talents to fashioning beautiful wood creations that enrich our clients' lives and preserve
our heritage.
How do we do what we do?
Northbeach Woodworks was founded by J.T. John, a third generation craftsman with over 25 years of experience. J.T. was privileged to train with Japanese woodworking masters, where he developed a reverence for Japanese hand tools, methods, and philosophy, all of which foster a deep connection to the wood and a passionate commitment to control, precision, and excellence. These values and commitments continue to inspire and inform everything we do today
in our modern facilities in California and Washington, where we use sophisticated machinery to create parts, which we join and finish
by hand. |
